Why this site exists
Horry County has grown faster than most people's sense of who runs what. Newer residents in Carolina Forest often don't know whether the county or the city handles their road. Longtime Conway residents watch council meetings and wonder why a vote didn't change a state law. We write for both groups, and for business owners, students and anyone else who wants the plain version with the source attached.
Where the name comes from
Voteforjohncassidy.com was John Cassidy's campaign website in 2022, when he ran as a Republican for South Carolina House District 61. He was also known locally through Duplicates INK in Conway. We kept the domain and changed its purpose. It doesn't campaign for Mr. Cassidy or anyone else, and nothing here should be read as a current candidacy. Campaign material from 2022 lives in a labeled archive on the District 61 page.
What we cover

How articles are written and checked
